Origines of the word Strøm
Evoking both the force and the tranquility of water, the Scandinavian word Strøm designates a current and, figuratively, water’s incredible strength, constant movement and energy, as well as its serenity. Strøm communicates the mighty power of water, whose essence, once channeled, profoundly nourishes and transforms, and it conveys a source of purity that regenerates inner balance and harmony.
History
Strøm was founded on a simple idea: combining Nordic spa and urbanity, for a relaxing experience. This balance, which is also found by our customers, is based on facilities in nature, yet just minutes from urban centers. Officially opened since 2009, Strøm continues to grow, both in terms of locations but also in public recognition.

An important award for Strøm Nordic Spa Old Quebec
On February 5, 2019, at the 13th edition of the Grands Prix du Design gala, Strøm was awarded a prize in the Centre de bien-être, d’entraînement et récréatif category as well as the prestigious recognition of Project of the year. Bringing together over 500 projects carried out by more than 800 professionals, the Grands Prix du Design aim to highlight the talent of Quebec designers and architects. It is one of the most acknowledged Quebec competitions in the industry.
Celebrating Strøm Old Quebec’s architecture
In July 2019, Strøm, who was nominated at the Architizer A+ Awards in the category Hospitality – Health Care & Wellness, was named the winner of the jury prize. Architizer is the largest international community of architects and its mission is to remind us of the importance of architecture, to which we owe the spaces that we live in. The A+ Awards celebrate the most innovative projects, which are judged by more than 400 leading experts from such rich and diverse fields as design, technology, real estate and fashion.
